Power Life Pride Yoga

Pride Yoga was a donation-based event celebrating diversity and LGBTQ+ equality to support the community in the Kansas City area. The event was put on by Power Life Yoga, the KC-based studio in which I am a manager. Through 30 local raffle donations, a vendor fair with percentage of sales donated and ticket sales revenue we were able to donate $1050 to the Kansas City Center for Inclusion. I spearheaded this event as a volunteer and received sponsorship from Power Life Yoga, Bar K, Alpha Lit KC and Balloon Bash Company. View the full gallery of images.

More Projects

After gaining some credibility and experience I started to get inquiries regarding freelance event planning. These opportunities were a great way to connect with local businesses and also generate income. A coordinated a variety of different events: competitive bike race, non-profit gala, volunteer events and many more. During these projects I planned and provided creative direction for events while staying within budget, maintained positive and professional relationships with vendors and clients and managed day of event layout, catering, staffing, seating and audio-visual needs along with set-up and tear-down.

The elegant evening included catered bites + cocktails from Pressed, photography by Laura Rowe, a GIF booth, over $3,000 worth of raffle prizes, a Tarot Card reader and surprise swag. Attendance was 157 women that generated over $6,000 in proceeds from the event. https://www.hootdesignco.com/galentines-2019

2. Safe Kids Day

University of Missouri Children's Hospital

I worked as an event's manager for the University of Missouri Children's Hospital. We invited Mid Missouri families to attend this massive awareness event, enabling local businesses to encourage health and safety for our youth in the community. We had a total of 1778 attendees (adults and children), 56 booths, and 62 volunteers that made the event so successful. My role in this project was assisting my director in all planning and organization that was put into this event. The goal was to make this a healthy, fun and informative event. This event took 6 months to plan and we reached more than 2,000 kids.

Throughout the ride there was water breaks, motivational signage and directions. The turnout for this event was 74 attendants and a generous net profit.
